Chattycast 134: Injust Asking

May 18, 2017

Injustice 2 drops this week, offering a very Mortal Kombat take on some of the most well-known characters on the planet. It's a very different interpretation than almost anything else, but the Injustice-verse feels like its own skewed version of normal. In fact, one reason these characters have been so enduring may be their ability to adapt to everything from playful innocence in Lego games to a violent story with intense, adult themes like Injustice.

This week, the Chattycast talks about the how various developers interpret known characters and make them their own. What core traits do characters need to keep to be recognizable? How much flexibility do we give in exploring outside the normal boundaries? What makes a character like Batman equally at home in Lego, Arkham, and Injustice?
